Fake journalist gang busted in Varanasi, nine arrested

The arrested fake journalists were presented before the media.

DCP Kashi Zone Pramod Kumar and ADCP Chandrakant Meena gave detailed information about the misdeeds of the gang of fake journalists. Officers said that complaints were being received for the last three days that some people come riding in a vehicle. Claiming to be journalists, they demand money from the policemen, showing fear of a sting. Motorists make illegal extortion money by stopping vehicles on the highway. Based on this information, Lanka Police formed a team and today caught 09 disguised so-called journalists after questioning near Harsewanand Public School under Malhiya Bridge.
