Kanpur, 17 September (HS). The police team of Kalyanpur police station arrested a young man who had cheated people of lakhs of rupees by posing as a fake sub-inspector from near CTS Basti Bithoor Road on Tuesday. The police team recovered a car, uniform and other documents from his possession. The police took legal action against him and sent him to jail.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Rajesh Kumar Singh said that the arrested accused is Sanjeev Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Rathore Nangla village of Mohammadabad police station area of Farrukhabad district. He was currently living in Malhonna Society Goa Garden of Kalyanpur in Kanpur city. During interrogation, he told that he has cheated many people of lakhs of rupees by intimidating people by wearing police uniform. The police team recovered three pairs of uniforms from his possession, one of which is fully equipped. Three P caps with crown cover, one beret cap, five belts with peonies, 12 pairs of stars and UPP flaps, three whistle lanyards, seven monograms, two holsters, one pistol pistol, two name plates, one pair of red shoes, two pairs of stars, one pair of UPP badge, one crown, two insignias, four full through, six empty flaps, two rubber stamps, one seal stamp, two ID cards of sub-inspector UP police, four canteen cards and other fake documents have been recovered.
A case of fraud has been registered against him in Kalyanpur police station. As part of the campaign being run against criminals, on the information of an informer, sub-inspector Arun Kumar Singh and his team arrested him on Tuesday and after taking legal action, he was sent to jail after presenting him in the court.
