Fact checking training was given to people of Ranchi and Dhanbad in Jharkhand and Thane in Maharashtra.

True fellow seniors: Vishvas News, the fact checking wing of Jagran New Media, trained people in Ranchi and Dhanbad in Jharkhand and Thane in Maharashtra under the 'Sach Ke Sathi-Seniors' campaign on November 10.

In these, seminars were organized for Ranchi and Dhanbad, while a webinar was also organized for Dhanbad. Apart from this, online training was also given to the people of Thane. In a media literacy program organized especially for senior citizens, the expert explained how to avoid financial frauds and how to identify deepfake videos.

At the workshop organized at Royalson Hotel, Ranchi, Deputy Editor and Checker Pallavi Mishra cautioned the attendees against deepfake videos and said that these can be checked with the help of some AI tools like True Media or Hive Moderation. Along with this, he gave basic information about fact checking. Meanwhile, Senior Editor (Special Projects) Mayank Shukla advised to avoid digital arrest and said that people have to be careful. No government agency does this kind of online verification.

Training given in Dhanbad also
In the program organized at Dhanbad Club, Associate Editor and Fact Checker Ashish Maharishi started the program by warning people against digital fraud and said that cyber criminals send phishing links by luring them with freebies. By clicking on this, the user's data gets stolen and miscreants misuse it.

Therefore the link should not be clicked. The program's Chief Deputy Editor and fact checker Pragya Shukla gave information about the advantages and disadvantages of AI and identifying deepfake videos. He also gave information about fact checking tools Google Open Search, Google Lens and Invid. Any suspicious image can be easily checked with the help of Google Lens.

A webinar was also organized for Dhanbad.
Online training program was also organized for the people of Dhanbad. Meanwhile, senior editor Urvashi Kapoor said that if you have information about any kind of cyber fraud, immediately call 1903 or a complaint can be lodged on cybercrime.gov.in. Apart from this, complaint can also be lodged in the nearest cyber cell.

In the webinar, Deputy Editor Devika Mehta advised to beware of misleading people and false posts in view of the upcoming elections in Jharkhand and asked to adopt a 'fixed' system. Under this, first look at any message carefully, check it and then give your reaction after knowing its authenticity. At the end of the program, Pooja Ratnakar, founder of 'Main Hoon Dhanbad' NGO, appreciated the webinar.

Online training was also given to the people of Thane
A webinar was also organized by Vishvas News for the people of Thane, Maharashtra. During the programme, Deputy Editor Devika Mehta informed people about the difference between truth, opinion and rumour. He also said that vigilance is very important to avoid financial crimes like digital arrest, phishing links, banking fraud, police fraud etc. ED or CBI never conducts online investigation like this. He also inspired people to vote.

Programs in 15 states
A webinar will be organized for the people of Bokaro on 11th November. Before Jharkhand and Maharashtra, the program has also been organized in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. As part of its media literacy campaign, Vishvas News is training senior citizens and other citizens in 50 cities across 15 states to identify fake and misleading posts.
