3 years imprisonment
Daljeet Kaur filed an FIR against her husband Nikhil Patel under sections 85 and 316 (2) of the Indian Penal Code.
Under Section 85 of the Act, ill-treating the husband or any member of his family can result in imprisonment of up to 3 years.
A divorce case can also be filed on the complaint of cheating by the husband. Apart from this, if a person cheats someone then that person can be fined or sentenced to 3 years in jail.
