Bhopal, 19 February (HS). Rural philosophy and traditional knowledge have important utility in Indian society. In pursuance of the National Education Policy 2020, there is a need for scientific research based on Indian knowledge tradition. The path of progress of a country and society that does not take inspiration from history cannot be paved, hence only taking inspiration from our history will pave the way for the upliftment of our society and country.

Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar said this in a lecture on “Relevance of Dharampal ji's ideas related to education: in the present perspective” organized by Dharampal Research Chair, Swaraj Institute Directorate at Barkatullah University, Bhopal on Monday evening on the birth anniversary of the famous thinker and historian Dharampal. He said that our traditions have also been based on science. There is importance in Indian culture of lighting a lamp under Tulsi after sunset. We believe that trees and plants sleep at night, hence plucking fruits, flowers or leaves at night is prohibited. This is not just a value based tradition but it is a science based tradition. It is possible to solve the questions of the society through research into Indian beliefs, traditions and genres as per the needs of the society. We all have to ensure our contribution in fulfilling the resolution of a developed India by the year 2047. To make India the best on the world stage, expression of the sense of identity is necessary.
