Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, was shaken by an explosion at around 10 am today. Kabul Police Command spokesman Khalid Zadran said the blast occurred on the road to Kabul airport and near Sheikh Zayed Hospital, injuring four people. This hospital is near the Indian Embassy in Kabul. However, there is no news of any Indian being injured.
According to Taliban officials, the motive behind the attack is not yet clear. Taliban officials have launched an investigation into the attack and the injured have been sent for treatment. This is not the first incident of attack near the Indian Embassy, such incidents have happened earlier also. The Indian Embassy has not been fully operational since 2020, as the Indian government largely ceased its operations due to the Taliban takeover.
Indian Embassy employees also attacked in Jalalabad
Recently on Tuesday, local employees of the Indian Embassy in Jalalabad, Afghanistan were attacked. Since the Indian Embassy is not operational, only local staff work there.
