Explosion near hospital and Gurudwara in Poonch, fear of terrorist attack; Security forces engaged in investigation

Rajouri: Jammu Kashmir News: A massive explosion took place under suspicious circumstances late Tuesday night on the road between the district hospital and Gurudwara in Poonch city. There was no loss of life or property, but panic spread in the entire area. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and started a search operation.

However, it is not yet known whether this is a terrorist incident or not. In the initial investigation it appears to be a homemade bomb blast. At present the police has started investigation. According to the information, people of the area ran towards Dahal after hearing the sound of explosion near Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital late in the night. Hearing the sound, security forces also reached the spot. They saw that an explosion had occurred on the road between the hospital and the shrine.

There are bullet marks on the wall of the shrine. After some time, CRPF jawans including SSP Poonch Jugal Minhas and District Development Commissioner Yasin Muhammad Chaudhary also reached the spot. The forensic team reached the spot and took samples. Police officials say that how the explosion occurred is being investigated. Initial investigation revealed that it was a hand-made explosive substance. Let us tell you that in the last one and a half year, about four such explosions have taken place in Poonch district.
