Ex-wife Nicole acquitted after 10-year trial

Former American footballer actor OJ Simpson has died at the age of 76. At this time his entire family was with him. Simpson died of terminal cancer. The worlds of football and film brought Simpson great popularity, immense money and love, but he became a villain after the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman in June 1994. Simpson's case was described by the American media as 'the case of the century'. The jury acquitted him in the Los Angeles court.

Spent nine years in a Nevada prison in 2008 after pleading guilty to 12 counts of armed robbery and kidnapping of two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel. During nine seasons for the Buffalo Bulls and two seasons for the San Francisco 49ers, Simpson became the greatest ball carrier in NFL history. In 1973, he became the first NFL player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a season. He retired in 1979. As a film actor, Simpson worked in The Towering Inferno (1974), Capricorn One (1977) and The Naked Gun.
