EVMs will be investigated, Election Commission's decision after complaint on two seats won by BJP in Haryana

Karnal and Faridabad seats in Haryana : The Election Commission has taken a big decision regarding voting through EVMs in two Lok Sabha seats of Haryana. The commission has given permission for checking EVMs of Karnal and Faridabad Lok Sabha constituencies of the state. Congress candidates have lost to BJP candidates on both these seats. After losing the election, the Congress candidate wrote a letter to the Election Commission and expressed apprehension that EVMs have been tampered with. After this, the commission has given permission for EVM checking on both the seats.

Allegations of EVM tampering

Congress candidate Divyanshu Buddhiraja from Karnal seat and Mahendra Pratap Singh from Faridabad seat lost the election. Both the candidates had written a letter to the Election Commission and expressed apprehension of EVM tampering. Then the Election Commission had said in a press release that permission has been given to check the EVMs of Karnal and Faridabad Lok Sabha constituencies of Haryana.

EVMs will be checked at a total of 6 polling stations

After receiving complaints on two seats in Haryana, the Election Commission has given permission for verification of EVMs at a total of six polling stations. According to the order of the commission, EVMs will be checked at two polling stations in Karnal, two in Panipat and two in Budkal. BJP candidate Manohar Lal won from Karnal and Krishan Pal from Faridabad.
