Voting is being held today for the by-election on Banaskantha’s Vav assembly seat. At present, tremendous enthusiasm is being seen among the voters regarding voting for Vav Assembly by-election. While voters have been standing in queues at polling stations since morning to exercise their franchise, news has been received that the EVM has malfunctioned in Bakhri village of Vav.
According to the information, the EVM of Vavna Bhakhri polling station-1 is faulty. Voters have been waiting for EVMs since morning. Voters who arrived since morning are waiting for the EVM machines to be switched on. Farmers’ time has also been wasted due to EVM machines malfunctioning. Then when the machine broke down, a new machine was brought and voting started. Voters who came to vote had to stand in long queues.
Talking about this, a voter said that he was standing in the queue to cast his vote at 7 am. The machine is broken, waiting for two hours for voting. When it is very important to vote, we have left farming work and come to vote. Another voter said that he had come early in the morning to cast his vote, but due to the machine malfunctioning he had to sit for 4 hours. Every time we have to sit for 4 hours to vote. Farming time gets spoiled. He said that he had come to vote with a wage of Rs 800, but due to the machine breaking down, he had to face trouble for 3 hours.
Earlier, Ganiben Thakor had also said that information about EVM malfunction has been received in 2 villages. It is reported that EVM is faulty in Sanesana, Asana village. Ganiben Thakor has informed the election officer about this.
