Filmmaker Kiran Rao was an assistant director on the 2001 film Lagaan. She and Aamir Khan first met on the sets of the film 'Lagaan'. When Kiran met Aamir for the first time, the actor was not divorced from Reena Dutta. However, Aamir and Reena got divorced in 2002, a year after the release of 'Lagaan'.
