News India Live, Digital Desk: Champai Soren government of Jharkhand has taken the biggest and revolutionary step so far for the rural development of the state. Making an official announcement, the Chief Minister has said that for the all-round development of every village in the state, 52-52 lakh rupees A special fund of Rs. 10,000 will be allocated. This huge amount will be used to strengthen the infrastructure in villages, create employment opportunities and stop migration. The government’s aim is that city-like facilities should now directly reach the remote villages of Jharkhand.
Where will the development money be used?
This huge amount of Rs 52 lakh will be spent under the supervision of the Gram Sabha and Panchayat of the village. The government has set some priorities for this:
Paved roads and drains: Connecting the internal roads of the village to the main road and making arrangements for drainage.
Drinking water facility: Strengthening the tap water scheme for every house and arranging for new hand pumps and borings.
Education and Health: Renovation of Anganwadi centers and expansion of infrastructure in primary health centres.
Cleanliness Campaign: Construction of community toilets and procurement of dustbins and other resources for waste management.
Emphasis also on “Abua Awas” and “Sarvajan Pension”
Chief Minister Champai Soren clarified that this fund of Rs 52 lakh will be in addition to the schemes that are already running in the villages. He reviewed the progress of the pucca houses being constructed under the ‘Abua Housing Scheme’ and directed the officials to ensure that there is no delay in releasing the installments to the beneficiaries. Also, it has been asked to speed up the process of linking all citizens above 50 years of age with ‘Sarvajan Pension’, so that no one has to face financial crisis in old age.
‘Social audit’ will be done to stop corruption
The government has made strict arrangements to prevent misuse of such a huge amount. The Chief Minister said that ‘social audit’ of the works being done in every village will be conducted. That means the village people themselves will decide where the money is being spent and what is the quality of the work. Apart from this, details of all expenses will be available on the online portal so that transparency is maintained. Mukhiya and Panchayat Secretaries have been made directly accountable.
‘Village Hub’ model to stop migration
The biggest challenge of the government is to stop migration from the villages of Jharkhand. A part of the fund of Rs 52 lakh will be spent on local self-employment and creating ‘village hubs’. Under this, self-help groups (SHGs) will be strengthened and small and cottage industries will be promoted. The Chief Minister believes that when there are sources of income and better living standards in the villages themselves, the youth will not move to other states in search of employment.
