Jaipur, August 20 (HS). Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under the scheme of providing a roof to every head and housing to every family, approval has been given for the construction of 12554 new houses for the weaker income group. The 8th State High Powered Steering Committee meeting regarding the State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee and Amrit 2.0 Scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) was held on Tuesday. In the meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, approval was given for 12,554 new houses.
Grant amount of Rs 1.75 lakh will be given
The proposals received from the urban bodies of 74 cities of the state were approved in the meeting. Under this, each beneficiary will get a grant of Rs 1.75 lakh for building their own permanent house. Out of which Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand will be given as grant from the central government. Also, a grant of Rs 25 thousand will be provided by the state government. In this way, a total subsidy of Rs 219.69 crore will be provided.
Final approval will be given by the central government
These 12,554 houses approved by the state government will be sent to the central government for final approval. Where these houses will get final approval in the CSMC meeting of the Government of India. The committee decided that the proposals received till the meeting of the Government of India should also be included and approved. For in-situ slum re-development in the state, instructions were given to prepare DPR of the project through development authorities, municipal corporations, development trusts. Along with this, instructions were given to the Chief Manager SLBC to provide maximum loan to the beneficiaries of EWS in the ongoing projects.
Work progress report, focus on planning
In the meeting of the State High Powered Steering Committee, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant took feedback on the progress report of the work done so far under Amrit 2.0. Along with this, instructions were also issued to focus on the planning of future projects. He also instructed the officials to revive all the water bodies under the action plan.
Recommendation for second installment of central assistance
During the meeting, it was recommended to release the second installment of central assistance under Amrit 2.0. The Chief Secretary said that no stone is being left unturned for development works. In such a situation, the agenda of the central government should be completed under the leadership of the state government.
