Haryana Assembly Elections: Unemployment is a big issue in the Haryana assembly elections. The BJP government has given government jobs to about 1.5 lakh youth on the basis of merit and qualification in its 10-year tenure, but government jobs alone have not helped in reducing the unemployment rate of the state.
Haryana ranks highest in India in terms of unemployment
At present, the unemployment rate in Haryana is the highest in India at 37.4 percent, which is higher than the national average. The Haryana government is not ready to believe this figure of the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy. The BJP government has its own logic. They say that not only in Haryana, but the unemployment rate in the whole country is never stable. It keeps decreasing every month.
The unemployment rate in the region is around six percent
According to the government, the unemployment rate in this sector is around six percent, which is at a normal level. Meanwhile, the BJP is not at all worried about the claims of rising unemployment in the state. The number of government employees is around four lakh. Of these, three and a quarter lakh employees are regular and about one and a half lakh employees are working on contract. Every year about 10,000 workers retire from service, but the number of regular workers recruited in proportion to retirement is very less. If we compare the government recruitments done during the tenure of the previous Congress and Aniloni government, then the BJP has made the maximum recruitments in its government.
BJP claims to have given employment to 35 lakh people
BJP has claimed to have provided employment to around 3.5 lakh people during its tenure in addition to 1.5 lakh government recruitments, but Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has questioned the government's claim in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has increased the unemployment allowance to registered unemployed youth till they get a government job or employment in the private sector, but the question is that until an inclusive policy is not made to end unemployment in the state, the youth will remain unemployed and will be seen standing in queues for employment.
The unemployment rate had reached 43.2 percent
Haryana currently tops the list with an unemployment rate of 37.4 percent. This is the second highest unemployment rate in the last five years. Earlier, during the lockdown imposed during the first wave of Corona, the unemployment rate had reached 43.2 percent in April 2020, which was the highest ever.
In Parliament, the Centre admitted that unemployment is increasing rapidly in Haryana
Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda says that the Government of India has admitted in Parliament that the unemployment rate in Haryana has tripled during the BJP government. Releasing a copy of the reply given by the Union Minister of State for Labor and Employment in Parliament, he said that government figures show that Haryana has the highest unemployment rate after Goa, Lakshadweep, Nagaland and Kerala.
Children and the elderly are also included in the unemployment figures
Former Haryana Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal has never accepted the figures of the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy. He believes that the agency belongs to the Congress leader and is releasing such figures to create confusion. The unemployment rate in Haryana is 17.5 percent in the age group of 15 to 29 years, 6.4 percent in the age group of 15 to 59 years and 6.1 percent in the age group above 15 years.
While releasing the unemployment figures in the state, CMII has also included children, old people and women in it, which is factually not correct at all. The unemployment rate in the state is completely under control. Unemployment rate of five to six percent is common and Niti Aayog also accepts the same figure in Haryana.
2.61 lakh unemployed registered in government records, unemployment allowance increased
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has termed the facts of rising unemployment rate in the state as false. He said that we have given employment to 35 to 40 lakh people. About 1.50 lakh government jobs have already been given in a transparent manner on the basis of merit.
There are currently 2.61 lakh registered unemployed youth in the state. Those who have sought employment under the Som Yuva Yojana. We will give unemployment allowance to these youth from August, Rs 900 to 1200 to 12th pass youth, Rs 1500 to 2000 to graduates and Rs 3000 to 3500 to post graduates.
