Even Sheikh Mujib’s name was removed from Bangladesh history textbooks that were tampered with.

Now Mohammad Yunus has produced textbooks in which military officer Zia-ur Rehman, in place of Sheikh Mujib, has taken up the flag to liberate East Pakistan and create Bangladesh.

These changes have been made to the textbooks for classes 4 to 9 by the National Curriculum and Taxbook Board of Bangladesh. Has there been any change in the earlier standards or not in the later standards? The government of Bangladesh defended the move, saying that it would teach ‘true’ history by removing all the old tax books that have glorified many people for no reason.
