Arvind Kejriwal Bail: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. While hearing the bail petition in the money laundering case related to the liquor policy scam, the Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Kejriwal.
What is the reason that despite getting interim bail from the country's Supreme Court, Arvind Kejriwal has to stay in Tihar Jail. In fact, Kejriwal's lawyer Hrishikesh Kumar himself has shared an explanation on why Kejriwal will not come out of jail now.
Kejriwal's lawyer Hrishikesh said that the Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Kejriwal and the issue of Article 19 and the need for arrest has been referred to a larger bench, however, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal will remain in jail. He will have to remain in custody as his bail in the CBI case is still pending.
The CBI has taken Delhi Chief Minister into its custody after getting permission from the court to question Arvind Kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar Jail after his arrest by the ED in a case related to the liquor policy scam. Since Arvind Kejriwal is in CBI custody, he will have to remain in jail for now despite getting a transfer bail from the Supreme Court.
Let us tell you that Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, after which he is in jail. Due to the Lok Sabha elections in May, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor Kejriwal till June 2 for election campaign. Then on June 3, he had to surrender in jail on the orders of the court.
