Ethiopia’s National Palace Museum is a strong pillar of rich tradition: Prime Minister Modi

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia): “Thank you Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali for giving me a glimpse of Ethiopia’s history and culture at the National Palace Museum in Addis Ababa. It is a strong reminder of Ethiopia’s rich traditions,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi commented on X after visiting Ethiopia’s National Palace Museum.

Prime Minister Modi said in another ex-post, “The future belongs to those partnerships that are based on vision and trust. We are committed to pursuing such cooperation with Ethiopia that both addresses changing global challenges and creates new possibilities….”

He said, “Today, when the eyes of the whole world are on the Global South, Ethiopia’s long-standing tradition of self-respect, independence and self-respect is a powerful inspiration for all of us.”

Prime Minister Modi said, “I have been awarded the highest honor of this country in the form of The Great Honor Mark of Ethiopia. It is a matter of great pride for me to be honored by the most ancient and rich civilization of the world. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali and during this, India and Ethiopia agreed to raise their relations to the level of strategic partnership.

Prime Minister Modi reached Ethiopia on Tuesday as part of the second phase of his four-day three-nation visit. Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali welcomed Modi at Addis Ababa International Airport. He also took Modi to the hotel in his car.

Prime Minister Modi said that although this is his first visit, he felt a deep sense of belonging and intimacy, which reflects the thousands of years of relations between the two countries. “These relations continue to shape the deep friendship, cooperation and mutual respect between our peoples,” he said.

During his visit to Ethiopia, the Prime Minister will also address a joint session of the country’s Parliament. Modi will also meet members of the Indian diaspora in Ethiopia. Addis Ababa is also the headquarters of the African Union. During India’s G-20 presidency in 2023, the African Union was inducted as a permanent member of the G-20. The Prime Minister will visit Oman from Ethiopia as part of the third leg of his three-nation visit.
