Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma said that Chaubia police station and crime branch were jointly checking suspicious vehicles near Raipura brick kiln. During this time, information was received from the informer that three persons are standing at the turn of Muhansi village with illegal arms. Taking immediate action on the information, when the police team reached Muhansi turn, the said persons tried to run towards village Bhadiapur. After which Basrehar police station was asked to surround the miscreants from Bhadiapur side through phone. On this, seeing themselves surrounded by police teams at Bhadiapur intersection, the miscreants fired three shots at the police team. During this, a bullet hit the left hand of Chaubia police station in-charge Baichan Singh and he got injured. When the police retaliated in self-defense, a bullet hit the right leg of the miscreant Irfan son of Zainuddin, who was arrested in injured condition from Bhadiapur intersection along with his two other companions along with a pistol, two shells and six live cartridges. The injured criminal Irfan was admitted to CHC Basrehar for treatment. Among the arrested criminals, Abhay and Shamshad have provided information related to the crimes.
SSP said that two illegal pistols, eleven live and three empty cartridges, one illegal knife, one Apache motorcycle, one stolen moped, four mobiles, one fake number plate and cash have been recovered from the arrested criminals. SSP said that the arrested criminals used to commit robbery on the passersby passing through deserted areas. All three are very clever robbers and have gone to jail many times before this.
