Mandi, March 30 (Hindustan Reporter) Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has said that an atmosphere is going on in Himachal against the Sukhu government. The disappointing environment that has been created against this government of one and a half years will definitely benefit the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections as well as the by-elections.
While answering the questions of the media in Mandi on Saturday, he said that for the first time in the history of Himachal, it has been seen that public anger against a new government is increasing. From the very first day, he started working with a spirit of revenge and closed a thousand institutions without thinking. This had an impact on entire Himachal. After this, everyone saw the example of law and order from the Manohar murder case of Chamba. Now when the public works were not done, people started asking their MLAs. When work started getting done by friends instead of MLAs, resentment started spreading among the MLAs also. Now it had become so bad that even the ministers were not getting their work done. It even came to the point that a minister publicly resigned and tearfully explained his compulsion in front of the public. Not only this, ministers were seen coming out of the cabinet crying. After this, due to the situation arising out of the Rajya Sabha elections, the MLAs listened to their conscience and today nine MLAs are with us.
He said that this is not a normal situation. The government has lost majority just a month ago. To save the government, the Chief Minister is now taking the help of the Speaker. Bharatiya Janata Party is working day and night for the Lok Sabha elections. Our workers are engaged in campaigning with full hard work and dedication. On the other hand, Congress is not able to decide its candidate yet and its leaders are running away from the elections. The President of the Congress Party is not denying herself and saying that there is no environment for contesting elections. The workers are angry with Congress.
He said that as soon as the BJP top leadership announced four candidates, our workers started campaigning. Not only this, we have also fielded candidates for by-elections on six seats. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the workers on all the seats. We are going to increase the pace of publicity in the coming days. Our candidate Kangana Ranaut from Mandi seat will also go among the public to seek support. He said that on April 1, there will be a conference of parliamentary constituency officials in Mandi in which the party state president and our candidate Kangana Ranaut will also attend.
