Bridgetown, June 5 (HS). The sixth match of the T20 World Cup 2024 between England and Scotland at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown was called off due to rain late on Tuesday night.

Scotland won the toss and decided to bat first against defending champions England. George Munsey (41* off 31 balls, 4 fours and 2 sixes) and Michael Jones (45* off 30 balls, 4 fours and 2 sixes) opened for the Scottish team and put on a brilliant 90-run partnership.

The match was halted due to rain after the second ball of the seventh over, but play resumed as soon as the rain stopped and it was reduced to 10-10 overs each.

Both openers controlled the match and scored heavily against the English bowlers, taking Scotland to 90 for no loss at the end of 10 overs.

However, rain again interrupted the match during the innings break and the officials had to call off the match. This was the first match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 that was washed out by rain.

Currently, England is in second place in Group B with one point. At the same time, Scotland is in third place with one point.
