On Monday, the railway vacated its land at Simri Bakhtiyarpur station between Saharsa Mansi railway section under East Central Railway by running an encroachment drive as per the pre-scheduled program. However, the encroachment drive was started about half a minute late from the scheduled time. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the work of building construction and beautification of Simri Bakhtiyarpur station is being done. The building construction work is in progress. The circulating area of the railway is to be organized and work of other passenger facilities is to be done. In which more than 92 shopkeepers used to run their shops on the railway land for the livelihood of their families for years. Despite continuous notices by the railway administration, the shop was not being vacated. After a lot of hard work by the railway administration, today the shops have been demolished by running a bulldozer under a tough decision. During this time, a large number of railway police and local police were present. According to information received from railway sources, 71 illegal and 21 licensed shopkeepers were living on the encroached land in Simri Bakhtiyarpur Station Goods Shed Road for years. Which has been vacated today.
After the encroachment of railway land was cleared, 987 square meters of land has now been returned to the railway. On Monday morning, a large number of people reached Simri Bakhtiyarpur railway station premises in the presence of railway police administration and local administration. Railway officials started clearing the land from the railway Durga Sthan to the goods warehouse as per the strategy to clear the designated railway land. Although many shopkeepers had already removed their goods, but the shops built on the railway land were still there. Which were demolished with the help of a bulldozer. During this, the police had to show strictness to disperse the crowd. There was a minor altercation during the removal of encroachment. On this occasion, Railway's AEN Samastipur, IOW Sneh Ranjan, Railway Inspector Vandana Kumari, Sub Inspector Sujit Kumar Mishra, Zonal Officer Shubham Verma as Magistrate, Revenue Officer Khushboo Kumari, Bakhtiyarpur Police Station Inspector Narendra Kumar, Baldeb Ram and other officials and police personnel including women police force were present. After the railway removed encroachment from the railway land on Monday, the problems of many shopkeepers have increased. Shopkeepers Roshan Poddar, Shyam Jaiswal, Sita Devi, Rinku Devi and others said that for the last thirty years we have been doing business on this railway land and feeding our children. Today this shop is the only support for the children. Today, due to the demolition of our shop, we are facing the problem of livelihood.
