Jhansi, 19 August (HS). SOG and Raksa police foiled the plan of the criminals who were planning to rob a bullion trader from Dabra in Madhya Pradesh and were doing his recce. Late on Sunday night, the SOG team had an encounter with the criminals. In this, a vicious criminal was injured after being shot in the leg. While his two companions fled from the spot. The police team is searching for those absconding companions. A pistol and cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the captured criminal. It is being told that these criminals were hoping to loot goods worth 50 lakhs from the bullion trader.

SP City Gyanendra Kumar Singh said that SOG and Raksa police were checking late on Sunday night. During this time, information was received through an informer that some criminals are coming on bike on Bajna Road to commit a big crime. On this information, SOG and Raksa police cordoned off the area and started searching. Then three suspects coming on a bike opened fire on seeing the police and started running. The police team chased them and opened fire. In which a criminal, 28-year-old Imran alias Immu son of Wasim resident of Datia MP, was injured after being shot in the leg. While his two other companions took advantage of the darkness and managed to escape.

According to the police, the arrested criminal Imran alias Immu has around 20 serious cases registered against him for robbery, murder, dacoity, extortion and firing on police. During interrogation, it was learnt that these people were planning to target a bullion trader resident of Dabra in Gwalior district and rob him. They were going to do a recce of the same. They were hoping to rob jewellery worth around 50 lakhs from there. At present, the search is on for the other two escaped criminals. They will be nabbed soon. He said that Imran was probably taken out of jail a few days ago to carry out this incident.
