An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the upper reaches of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Two army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were martyred in this encounter, while two others are reported to be injured. Security officials gave this information on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, security forces cordoned off the Nadgam area of Chhatru sector and launched a search operation, during which the encounter took place. Four army personnel were injured in this encounter and two of them JCO Naib Subedar Vipan Kumar and Constable Arvind Singh died during treatment.
Last Friday, there was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter started in Pattan area of North Kashmir district.
