Encounter going on in Rekawaya forest of Abujhmad, firing is happening intermittently

Narayanpur, May 23 (HS). An encounter is going on between the police and Naxalites in the Rekavaya forest of Abujhmad area of ​​the district, on the border of Bijapur, Dantewada and Narayanpur districts. There is intermittent firing from both sides.

According to the information received, the police had received information that high cadre Naxalites are present in Rekawaya area of ​​Abujhmad. On the information, a joint team of DRG, Bastar Fighters and STF was sent on a joint operation on Thursday morning with more than a thousand soldiers from the three districts Bijapur, Dantewada and Narayanpur. Meanwhile, the Naxalites who were lying in ambush started firing on the soldiers. In retaliation, the soldiers gave a befitting reply to the Naxalites and surrounded them. Intermittent firing is going on from both sides, according to sources, some Naxalites have been shot, it has not been officially confirmed. Narayanpur SP Prabhat Kumar confirmed the encounter and said that detailed information will be available after the return of the soldiers.
