Tamil Nadu There is good news for lakhs of government employees before Diwali. The MK Stalin government of the state has decided to give bonus and ex-gratia to the employees of public sector undertakings (PSUs) and statutory boards of the state for the financial year 2023-24.
This decision of the state government will benefit 2,75,670 lakh employees. Under this, eligible employees will be given a minimum bonus of Rs 8,400 and a maximum of Rs 16,800. The government will spend Rs 369.65 crore on this step. However, separate orders will be issued on bonus and ex-gratia amount for employees of cooperative societies and other organizations.
Who will get how much bonus?
All eligible workers of profit making PSUs under Group C and D will be given a minimum bonus of Rs 8,400 and a maximum of Rs 16,800, which will be equivalent to 8.33 per cent bonus and 11.67 per cent ex-gratia.
Employees of PSUs which do not have permissible surplus will be given 8.33 percent bonus and 1.67 percent ex-gratia. The Chief Minister has ordered to pay bonus and ex-gratia amount to a total of 2,75,670 employees of public sector undertakings of the state.
20 percent bonus and ex-gratia to workers and employees of Tamil Nadu Production and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO), State Transport Undertakings, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation and Cooperative Milk Producers Union.
10 percent bonus and ex-gratia to Group C and D employees of Tamil Nadu Housing Board and Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Drainage Board.
Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board employees will be given 8.33 percent bonus and Civil Supplies Corporation employees will be given an ex-gratia amount of Rs 3,000.
