Fatehabad, 23 May (HS). The Sarv Karmachari Sangh on Thursday expressed strong displeasure over the administration not making proper arrangements for the employees engaged in election duty to vote through ballot paper. Besides, the employees union has also raised questions on the security of the ballot box in which the ballot papers are being put and demanded the Election Commission to take cognizance of this matter.
Leader of Sarva Karamchari Sangh Dharmendra Dhanda said that the Fatehabad district administration did not make proper arrangements for voting with ballot papers for the employees on election duty. The administration has issued a letter saying that all employees should come to Fatehabad on 22, 23 and 24 May and cast their votes. He said that it was the responsibility of the administration to make arrangements for the ballot papers of the employees to reach their residence or office, but this was not done. They have been ordered to come to Fatehabad and take the ballot papers, which has caused a lot of resentment among the employees.
He said that the employees who would travel several kilometers from Jakhal and Tohana to Fatehabad had to face a lot of trouble here. Not only this, there was no proper arrangement to provide ballot papers to the employees here either. The employees had to wait for hours for ballot papers. Apart from this, the employee leader also raised questions on the security of the ballot boxes and said that looking at the ballot boxes in which the employees were being asked to cast their votes using ballot papers, it seemed that the votes of the employees were also not safe. Because the ballot box which was sealed did not have the signature of any political agent of any party. Nor was there any tag attached.
According to the letter, they were given 3 days time to cast their votes, whereas yesterday they were informed by phone that the employees will have to come to Fatehabad and cast their votes. Voting will have to be done on 22nd and 23rd May only. Sarva Karmachari Sangh strongly condemns this and demands that arrangements should be made for the employees to cast their votes at the time of rehearsal on 24th May also. The system of voting through belt paper was highly condemnable. We demand action against those officers who are responsible for it.
