New Delhi, March 21 (HS). Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary called on the aerospace world to learn a lesson from the Russia-Ukraine war and the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. He also highlighted the air power lessons learned from both conflicts. In his address to the officers, the Air Chief explained about the future challenges faced by the Indian Air Force, its capability development plan and its jointness.
Air Chief Marshal Choudhary visited the Defense Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington on Friday. He addressed the student officers and permanent staff of the college from the Indian Armed Forces and friendly countries preparing for the 79th Staff Course. He stressed on transforming the Indian Air Force into a modern and future-ready aerospace force. He reiterated the vision enunciated in the Indian Air Force doctrine, which envisages an agile and adaptive Air Force to provide decisive aerospace power.
The Air Chief's address highlighted the key role played by the Indian Air Force during the evacuation of Indian expatriates from conflict areas and during disaster relief operations. The Air Chief was also briefed about the ongoing training activities and encouragement being given for jointness in DSSC, which he appreciated. DSSC is a defense services training institute of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Here officers of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, selected officers of paramilitary forces and civil services and officers of friendly countries are trained for command and staff appointments.
