Pune News: 26-year-old Anna Sebastian Pereille joined Ernst & Young in March. But Anna Sebastian Pereille committed suicide due to 'excessive workload' from her boss. The case came into the limelight when the chartered accountant's mother wrote an emotional letter making serious allegations against the company boss.
According to reports, the 26-year-old girl died in the month of July. The mother of the deceased alleges that her daughter's boss used to make her do so much work that she was under stress. She was constantly under pressure of more and more work, ultimately her daughter died under the burden of work.
Let us tell you that this was the first job of 26-year-old Ana Sebastian. She was initially very excited after joining Ernst & Young Company. Ana Sebastian's mother described her daughter as a warrior in the letter and said that she had topped all the school and college examinations.
Not only this, after joining the job, she worked tirelessly in the company. She wrote in the letter, 'I am writing this letter as a grieving mother who has lost her precious child. She joined EY Pune as an executive on March 19, 2024. But four months later, on July 20, my world was destroyed when I got the news of Anna's death.'
She was only 26 years old. Describing Anna as a warrior, mother Anita said, “The workload, new environment and long working hours took a toll on her physically, emotionally and mentally. Soon after joining she started experiencing anxiety, insomnia and stress, but she continued to push herself believing that hard work and perseverance are the keys to success.”
The letter states that she used to work till late nights and had to work even on weekends. She was not given time to even breathe. The letter further states that she was complaining of chest tightness for the past one week. The doctor has advised her to rest.
But, after consulting a doctor, it started working as before. He said that there is still a lot of work to be done and he will not get any leave. He told that once his assistant manager called him at night for a work, which he asked him to complete the next morning. He worked all night.
The next morning she reached the office without taking rest. Not only this, Anna told her father that the workload was too much, especially the extra work given verbally apart from the official work. She said, “My daughter's death is a warning for E&Y and also a message for the chairman of the company.”
He wrote, 'I hope this letter reaches you with the seriousness it deserves.' Let us tell you that the shocking thing is that no one from EY attended his funeral.
