Emerging women cricketers trained with Adani Gujarat Giants team in a special session

Bengaluru, March 2 (HS). Women's Premier League (WPL) team Gujarat Giants took part in a training session with aspiring cricketers from Adani Sportsline's academy in Ahmedabad. The girls spent time with the biggest names in world cricket during their training sessions and picked up a lot of inspiration and sporting knowledge.

Emerging bowler Riya, who is among these youngsters, said in a statement issued by the franchise, “It feels great to share the net with such big cricketers. I am grateful to my coaches as well as Adani Sportsline. We got to see how international cricketers practice for big matches.”

Rhea took the opportunity to learn from her idol Sneh Rana. Regarding the vice-captain of the team, he said, “As a bowler, I saw and learned what strategy the team made to get the batsmen out. Lee Tahuhu is a player whom I have watched closely but the player I consider my idol is Sneh. She remains calm even in difficult situations, which is very important.”

Another bowler who participated in the session was Pari, who was excited to see Harleen Deol and Ashley Gardner. He said, “Ashley can find the right line and length and as an emerging spinner, that was one thing I learned after watching her in the nets. I am a big fan of Harleen. I like the way she bats. He inspired me to be better.”

Mananya, an all-rounder and fan of Meghna Singh, said, “Adani Sportsline gave us the opportunity to watch the players and interact with them. I saw Meghna bowling from close range. I learned how he increased his pace and worked on his line and length. “It can be difficult to get the speed right during the run-up but he did it very well.”

Team Mentor Mithali Raj said, “Adani Sportsline's dedication to promoting women's cricket at the grassroots level is truly inspiring. It was a pleasure meeting enthusiastic girls from Ahmedabad. His passion and inquisitive mind reflects his love for the game. “I hope they learn valuable lessons to become not only better athletes but better people.”

Sanjay Adesara, CBO, Adani Sportsline, said, “Since WPL Season 1, there has been an increased enthusiasm among young girls to take up cricket, and Adani Sportsline Academies have seen an increase in registrations. “This response is encouraging and we hope it continues.”
