Emergency Movie: Protests have started in Punjab even before the release of BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's new film Emergency. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has demanded an immediate ban on the film 'Emergency'. He alleged that the character of Sikhs has been portrayed wrongly in the film.

He said that actress Kangana Ranaut, who is embroiled in controversies over her anti-Sikh and anti-Punjab statements, has deliberately made this film with the intention of misrepresenting Sikhs, which the Sikh community cannot tolerate. He has demanded that a case be registered against Kangana Ranaut for inciting religious sentiments.

Dhami said that it is a disgusting act to insult the country by making an anti-Sikh story about the martyrs of 1984. The country can never forget the Sikh massacre of 1984 and Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwalia has been declared a national martyr by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, while Kangana Ranaut's film is trying to kill his character. He said that Kangana Ranaut has been deliberately making expressions that provoke the sentiments of Sikhs many times, but the government is protecting her instead of taking action against her.

Dhami said that it is clear from the released parts of the film Emergency that Sikhs have been deliberately portrayed as terrorists in it, which is part of a deep conspiracy. On one hand, the release of the film 'Punjab 95' based on the life of Sikh activist Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra, who spoke about human rights, was not approved even after 85 cuts, while on the other hand its release was banned. The film 'Punjab 95', which presents wrong facts about the Sikh community, is not being released immediately, these double standards are not in the interest of the country.
