Emergency landing of Indigo plane at Jaipur airport after bomb threat

Jaipur, 22 October (HS). An IndiGo flight made an emergency landing after receiving a bomb threat at Jaipur International Airport on Tuesday evening. On receiving information about the bomb, all the security agencies came into alert mode. After landing, security agencies examined the plane for two hours. When nothing was found in the investigation, the plane took off for its destination. There were 183 passengers and seven crew members on board the plane when the threat was received. The plane had come to Jaipur from Kolkata.

Jaipur Airport Police Officer Sandeep Basera said that Indigo flight number 6E-394 had taken off from Kolkata to Jaipur. On receiving information about the presence of a bomb in the plane, the pilot, after talking to the air traffic control, made a full emergency landing of the plane after the scheduled landing time. On receiving information about the bomb, the plane made an emergency landing at around 5 pm. The plane remained parked at the airport for more than two hours and was searched by security agencies. Keeping the security standards in mind, CISF and Anti Bomb Squad team cordoned off the plane and examined the 183 passengers present on the plane. When no suspicious object was found in the plane, all the passengers and security agencies heaved a sigh of relief. After that the flight was sent to its destination.

Even before this, on October 20, an emergency landing of Air India Express aircraft was made at Jaipur International Airport. Where the Air India Express plane flew from Dubai to Jaipur. It was during the mid-journey that information about a bomb was received on the plane. After this, after talking to the air traffic control, the pilot made a full emergency landing of the aircraft after the scheduled landing time. Earlier on October 15, information about a bomb was also received in a flight going from Dammam to Lucknow. For this reason, emergency landing of Indigo Airlines plane was made at Jaipur International Airport. Even then no suspicious object was found in the plane. In the past also, bomb threats have been made to Jaipur Airport many times but till now all these had turned out to be rumours. On February 15, a bomb threat was received at Jaipur Airport. A threat was sent by sending an e-mail on the official ID of Jaipur Airport from an ID named Don of India. The security agency and police did not find any suspicious items during the investigation. Last year also on December 27, a threat was given to bomb more than half a dozen airports including Jaipur. There was chaos at Jaipur airport after receiving the email on the official customer care ID. This time also no suspicious thing was found in the investigation.
