Katihar, September 10 (HS). About two dozen women of Eksala Panchayat under Barsoi subdivision of Katihar district have pleaded for justice to the subdivisional officer. The women allege that Pyari Khatun of the village and her husband Sanowar Alam, in collusion with the branch manager of Bandhan Bank and Mallikpur branch, took a loan of Rs 60 lakh from two banks in the name of the women and have now absconded.
The women say that they did not know that such a huge loan amount has been taken in their name. The branch manager is threatening the women to repay the loan amount and is coming to their homes and pressuring them. The women have pleaded to the sub-divisional officer for justice and said that when they did not take the loan then why should they repay it.
Sub-divisional officer Dixit Shwetam said that after listening to the problems of the women, the matter will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken after the investigation. The women allege that Pyaari Khatun and her husband have committed this fraud in connivance with the bank officials and now they have absconded.
The women have demanded the Sub-Divisional Officer to investigate the matter and take action against the culprits. They said that they will fight for their rights and get justice. The Sub-Divisional Officer has assured the women that the matter will be investigated and action will be taken against the culprits.
