Kesco will completely eliminate the billing problem in the next two years. Every day consumers visit the electricity office complaining about not receiving bills. Kesco officials will achieve the target of installing smart meters in the homes of six and a half lakh consumers in the next two years. At present, smart meters have been installed in one and a half lakh homes. Kesco is spending a budget of Rs 582 crore on this work.
Meters are being checked in 30 thousand houses
Kesco is currently installing check meters in the homes of 30 thousand consumers. Their results are being checked. Kesco has created a consumer app for the convenience of consumers. In which the consumer will be able to see how many units of electricity were consumed in a day. With the introduction of this system, billing meters will be completely abolished. Officials say that billing will be done only through meters above 25 kilowatts. Apart from this, only smart prepaid meters will be installed in all the houses.
Kesco Director Rakesh Varshney said- Kesco will install smart prepaid meters in every consumer's home. Those who already have meters installed in their homes will not be charged for installing meters. Billing will be done for meters above 25 kW. Through the app created by Kesco, consumers will also know how many units of electricity were spent per day for how many rupees.
