Electricity Bill Rules: Consumers in the city will soon be relieved of the hassle of wrong electricity bills and their readings. Survey work is going on in full swing to install smart meters with new technology. 2900 meters have been installed in the city. At many places, the survey team is also facing doubts from people. Usually consumers complain that their electricity bills are coming wrong.
Meter readers are also accused of taking arbitrary figures. All these problems will be eliminated by installing smart meters. Chief Engineer Dheeraj Sinha said that old meters will be removed and new meters will be installed. No additional charge will be taken for these.
Bill will be automatically generated on the last date of every month
A modem has been installed in the smart meter. Through which, on the last day of the month, the online bill for the electricity consumed will be generated and sent to the consumer's mobile number. There will be no chance of getting a wrong bill. There are 3.64 lakh consumers in the city, out of which 1.12 lakh consumers already have smart meters installed. Electronic meters will be removed and smart meters will be installed.
Smart meters are also being installed in rural areas. Chief Engineer Zone 2 Sunil Kumar Gupta said that the work of installing smart meters is going on in Sardhana Town.
Smart meters will be installed on all feeders to prevent power theft
There are 410 feeders at 51 power substations in the city. From where electricity is supplied to different localities and areas. Smart meters have been installed on all feeders. Through this, load is being checked every hour. In areas where line loss is high, these smart meters will prove effective in assessing power consumption and recovering electricity bills accordingly. Not only this, these are also being installed on distribution transformers. So far 183 meters have been installed.
