Yogi Cabinet News: Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Yogi government has fulfilled another promise made to the farmers. An important decision regarding farmers was taken in the cabinet meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday. The proposal to give 100 percent discount on electricity bills of farmers has been approved.
Under this, farmers using tube wells in rural and urban areas will not have to pay a single rupee bill. A total of about 1.5 crore farmers will benefit from this decision. Under this, no bill will be payable from 1/04/2023, interest free payment scheme will be started on the previously outstanding bills.
A total of 14 lakh 78 thousand tube wells (5,188) of both types will get 100 percent rebate in electricity bills. There are about 14 lakh 73 thousand tube wells in rural areas. There are 5,188 tube wells in the urban area. 100 percent rebate has been given in the electricity bill of a total of 14 lakh 78 thousand tube wells of both types.
Approval of two 800 MW power plant units in Anpara
Apart from this, the Cabinet has approved two power plant units of 800 MW each at Anpara with 50%-50% participation (State Government and NTPC) in terms of the agreement signed with NTPC at the Global Investor Summit. The total cost of this will be Rs 8624 crore. The first unit will be commissioned in about 50 months, the second unit will be commissioned in the next 6 months.
Along with this, Power Corporation's proposal for exemption in stamp duty and registration fee for three 660 MW supercritical power units in Ghatampur has been approved. The proposal related to Green Hydrogen Policy 2024 has been approved.
The proposal for revised cost of drinking water project in Agra has been approved in the Urban Development Department. Also, the proposal related to Matribhoomi Arpan Yojana has been approved, 40% work will be borne by the state government, 60% work can be done by the individual, this includes CCTV, solar lights, parks and other civic amenities, for this a Governing body will be formed. A council will be formed.
Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Education: To increase the production of maize for the farmers, the state government will run the Accelerated Maize Development Scheme in all 75 districts, earlier this scheme was run in 11 districts with the help of the Central Government. The proposal to build Mahatma Gautam Buddha University of Agricultural Technology in Kushinagar in EPC mode has been approved, the estimated cost is Rs 434 crore 60 lakh. The proposal for a research center for research in the agricultural sector at a cost of Rs 11 crore 95 lakh has been approved.
