Electric vehicle sales increased by 55 percent in July

Mumbai: Total electric vehicle sales in July grew 55.20 per cent year-on-year to 1,79,038 units, led by a surge in sales of electric two-wheelers. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), e-two-wheeler sales grew by a massive 96 per cent.

The number of electric vehicle sales in July last year was 116,221, of which the number of e-two-wheelers was 107,016. The number of e-two-wheeler sales in July 2023 was 54616.

According to the data, sales of e-three wheelers have also increased by 18 percent to 63,667 units. Sales of electric vehicles have declined by 2.92 percent. FADA sources said that the trend of electric vehicles is increasing in the country, due to which sales of e-two-wheelers and e-three-wheelers are witnessing a significant increase.

Total auto retail sales in July grew 14 percent year-on-year. Sales have seen an increase due to increased demand at the rural level and new product launches. Despite the increase in sales, it was also reported that the inventory of Utaru vehicles was around Rs 73,000 crore.
