Electoral Bonds: ED or IT raid on 14 out of top-30 companies, know how much bonds were bought and donated to political parties

SBI Electoral Bond Data: In the details of electoral bonds given by the State Bank of India (SBI) to the Election Commission, it has been revealed that there are many companies which have purchased electoral bonds worth crores of rupees, on which ED and Income Tax action has been taken. Some of these companies were also raided by ED in 2019 and during this time they have purchased electoral bonds in different quantities in 5 years. The name of Future Gaming and Hotel Services Private Limited, the most expensive electoral bond buyer of more than Rs 1300 crore, is also named in it.

In the list released by the Election Commission, there are 22 companies which have donated more than Rs 100 crore to political parties through electoral bonds. Of the 30 companies that purchased the most electoral bonds between 2019 and 2024, 14 have already been raided. Future Gaming & Hotel Services Pvt Ltd

Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Private Limited also has a long list of purchasing electoral bonds. The company has purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 966 crore. From April 12, 2019, the company started buying electoral bonds and bought several bonds worth Rs 1 crore in a single day. From 2019 to October 12, 2023, the company purchased several electoral bonds. In the year 2019, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Private Limited was raided by the Income Tax Department in October 2019. In this operation, many offices related to the company were raided in Hyderabad and other places. The owner of this company is Telugu businessman Krishna Reddy.

Haldia Engineering Limited

Haldia Engineering Limited donated Rs 377 crore through electoral bonds. Central Bureau of Investigation action was taken against the company. This action was taken against the company in the year 2020.

Vedanta Limited

In 2022, ED had raided Vedanta Group company Talwandi Sabo Power Limited. This raid was conducted in the case of money laundering. In the list sent by the Election Commission, it was told that the company has purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 400 crore.

Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital

Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital has donated Rs 162 crore to a political party through electoral bonds. The company has already been raided by Income Tax. The raid was conducted in the year 2020 and the company purchased electoral bonds in 2021.

DLF Commercial Developers Limited

DLF Commercial Developers Limited was booked by the CBI in 2019 for land allotment irregularities. Later in 2023, ED also raided the company's offices in Gurugram. This raid was conducted during the investigation of a case related to real estate firm Supertech. The company purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 130 crore.
