Elections on 4 Legislative Council seats in Maharashtra on June 10

Mumbai: The tenure of the four-member Maharashtra Legislative Council, comprising two teacher constituencies and two graduate constituencies, ends on July 7. Therefore, elections to these four seats will be held on June 10, the Election Commission said.

The election schedule for this Legislative Council meeting has been announced by the Central Election Commission. In which nomination form can be filled from 15th May to 22nd May. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on 24th May. Also, the last date for withdrawal of nomination forms is 27 May 2024. Voting will be held on June 10 from 8 am to 4 pm and counting of votes will take place on June 13.

In Maharashtra, the tenure of current MLC Vilas Vinayak Potnis of Mumbai Graduate (ex-officio) Mutter Union and Legislative Council Member (MLC) of Konkan Division Graduate Mutter Union Niranjan Vasant Davkhare will end on July 7. Whereas the tenure of Darade Kishore Bhikhaji of Nashik Division Teachers Voters Association and Kapil Patil of Mumbai Teachers Voters Association is expiring on July 7, 2024.

Now everyone's eyes are on who Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi will make candidates for the four seats of the Legislative Council.
