Election process postponed after scuffle with BJP MLA

Lakhimpur Kheri, 09 October (HIST). The election process of Lakhimpur Urban Cooperative Bank Limited has been postponed by the District Election Officer following a scuffle between BJP Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma and Bar Council District President Awadhesh Singh.

Meanwhile, an argument broke out between BJP Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma and District President of Advocates Association Awadhesh Singh over some issue. Meanwhile, a scuffle broke out in front of the police. During this, Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma alleged that Awadhesh Singh had scuffled with him in front of the police, in which even his kurta got torn. After this the supporters of Sadar MLA raised slogans. Sadar Kotwal said that in view of the seriousness of the incident, heavy police force has been deployed on the spot. Due to this incident, the elections of Urban Cooperative Society Bank were postponed.
