Election 2024: Campaigning for the fourth phase will be quiet today, voting will take place on May 13

Voting for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be held on May 13 from 7 am to 6 pm. Out of 40 Lok Sabha constituencies of Bihar, voting has been held in the first, second and third phase in a total of 14 Lok Sabha constituencies. Now elections are to be held on 5 seats in the fourth phase. Elections will be held on Darbhanga, Ujiarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai and Munger Lok Sabha seats. The fourth phase of elections is considered very important because in this phase famous and veteran leaders of Bihar are in the fray.

Election campaign will end by 5 pm today

In the fourth phase, the public will decide the fate of former JDU national president Lalan Singh, senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh, senior BJP leader Nityanand Rai and Ashok Chaudhary's daughter Shambhavi Chaudhary. The election campaign for this election will end today at 5 pm. The Election Commission has also made complete preparations for peaceful voting.

55 candidates for five Lok Sabha seats in the fourth phase

In the fourth phase, 55 candidates are in the fray for all the five Lok Sabha seats, who are trying their luck. Out of these 55 candidates, four are female candidates while 51 male candidates are in the fray. In which 21 candidates are independent, while 15 candidates are contesting from major parties. Maximum 13 candidates are in the fray in Ujiarpur. Whereas at least 8 candidates are in the fray in Darbhanga. Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party is in the fray on all five seats in Bihar, while NDA has three candidates from BJP, one from JDU and one from Lok Janshakti Party. In the Indian alliance, RJD is contesting on three seats, Congress on one seat and CPI on one seat. There are 19 candidates from smaller parties and organizations.

A total of 95,83,662 voters will vote

Of the five Lok Sabha seats in the fourth phase, four are general seats, while one seat, Samastipur, is a reserved seat. Mainly a direct contest is being considered between NDA alliance and Bharat alliance. A total of 95,83,662 voters will vote in the five Lok Sabha constituencies. In which 50,49,656 are male voters while 45,33,813 female voters will vote. The number of third gender voters is 193. Among these, the number of first-time voters i.e. voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years is 151482, while the number of voters in the age group of 20 to 29 years is 21,42,246. There are 2814 voters above 100 years of age while there are 83092 voters above 85 years of age. The Election Commission has made arrangements for safe voting for all voters.

There are a total of 9447 polling stations in five Lok Sabha constituencies.

Among these five Lok Sabha constituencies, Begusarai has the highest number of voters at 2,196,089, while Ujiarpur has the least number of voters at 17,45,408. Apart from this, 20,42,289 voters will vote in Munger, 18,18,530 in Samastipur and 178356 voters in Darbhanga. A total of 9447 polling stations have been set up by the Election Commission in the five Lok Sabha constituencies. In which 7915 polling stations have been set up in rural areas while 1532 polling stations have been set up in urban areas. In which the total number of polling stations throughout the day is 5398, out of which 4621 polling stations are in rural areas and 777 polling stations are in urban areas.
