Lucknow, 17 August (HS). An elderly man Mahavir was stabbed to death on Friday night at a distance of 200 meters from Gomti Nagar Extension Police Station. On the complaint of the deceased's son, the police have registered a case and started searching for the accused.
Mahavir Yadav, a resident of Makdoompur, used to sell tea and puri-sabzi a little distance away from the police station. According to son Anuj, his father used to come home in the morning and evening to have food and spent the rest of the day and night at the shop. When he did not reach home on Saturday morning, the worried family reached the shop and found Mahavir's body covered in blood. The police, which arrived after being informed by the family, took the body into custody and investigated the incident spot. The son told that on Friday night he had a fight with Dilip of the same village and he had threatened to kill him.
Police station in-charge Sudhir Awasthi said that the family has accused two people including Dilip of murder. Several cases have been registered against him earlier as well. Police has registered a case under relevant sections on the basis of the complaint and has started investigating the matter.
