Kanpur, 08 July (HS). An old man died on Monday after drowning in the Pandu river in Sachendi police station area. Police reached the spot after getting the information and took out the body with the help of divers and sent it to the post-mortem house.
ADCP West Vijayendra Dwivedi said that Bhajanlal (70), resident of village Bhooti Kheda, went to Pandu river on Monday to give water to his buffaloes. In the afternoon, in the humid heat, he entered the river and started bathing his buffaloes. During this, he went too deep and drowned. Police reached the spot and recovered the body from the river at some distance with the help of divers. No written complaint has been received from the family, yet the body was sent for post-mortem after filling the Panchnama.
