Mathura, 21 August (HS). Janmashtami festival will be celebrated on 27 August in Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan, the Raas Sthal of Lord Krishna. On this occasion, an appeal has been made not to bring children and elderly people to the temple. In this regard, the temple management has also issued an advisory on Wednesday. This decision has been taken in view of the crowd in the temple and the incidents that happened in the past few days.

The festival of Janmashtami is going to be celebrated in different parts of the country on Monday 26 August 2024. Preparations are going on in full swing in various temples of Lord Krishna for this. Many temples including Banke Bihari Temple, Shri Dwarkadhish Temple, Prem Mandir, Jagannath Temple are being decorated for Janmashtami. On this day, many guidelines are also issued by the temple administration for the convenience of the devotees. Janmashtami will be celebrated on 2 days this year on 26 August and 27 August in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. But the festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated on 27 August in the famous Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan. According to the schedule issued by the temple administration for Janmashtami, devotees will be able to have darshan of Banke Bihari Ji. The doors of the temple will open from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm on Janmashtami. During this, the Shringar Aarti of Banke Bihari Ji will be performed at 9:00 am. After the Rajbhog Aarti of Thakur Ji at 11:55, the curtain will be drawn at 12:00. Devotees will be able to have darshan of Banke Bihari Ji from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm in the evening. During this, Gwal Aarti of Banke Bihari Ji will be performed at 6:30 pm. Devotees will participate in the evening Aarti of the Lord at 7:30 pm. Mahabhishek of Banke Bihari Ji will be performed at midnight. Darshan will be closed during this time. The doors of the temple will open with Mangal Aarti at 1:45 in the morning and devotees will be able to have darshan of Thakur Ji. Nandotsav will be celebrated in Banke Bihari Temple on 28 August from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm.

The temple management has appealed to the people on the day of Janmashtami that devotees should not come to the temple premises with elderly and children. Along with this appeal, the temple management has asked the devotees not to bring bags or any kind of luggage to the Banke Bihari temple. The devotees have been asked by the temple management to use the entrance gate to enter the temple and the exit gate to leave on the day of Janmashtami.
