Elderly businessman duped by pretending to be Delhi Police, two gold chains stolen after tricking him | News India


Araria 31 August (HS). On Saturday near the Patel Chowk railway crossing, located at a short distance from the Forbisganj police station, two thugs, claiming to be from Delhi Police, made away with two heavy chains of elderly businessman Ashok Anand Dev. The act of the two tall and broad thugs has been captured on CCTV cameras as well. Vishal Anand, son of the elderly businessman who was cheated, immediately gave oral information about the matter to the station head Raghavendra Kumar Singh. After which, the police officers of the station and the jawans of Tiger Mobile searched the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the city and the act of the thugs was captured in it.

Regarding the matter, Vishal Anand, son of businessman Ashok Anand Dev, a resident of Bengali Tola of Nagar Parishad area, said that his father had gone across the Patel Chowk railway crossing to get milk and when he was returning back on the motorcycle with the milk, two tall and broad men stopped him, introduced themselves as Delhi Police and tried to get information from him by taking names of some people. While leaving, both the thugs also expressed a little anger towards the businessman for not stopping despite being called out to him. After that, both the thugs asked him to take off the gold chain worn around his neck, wrap it in a paper and keep it in his pocket.

The victim businessman told that before also they had made a man do the same. For which they took off his gold chain. After which he gave it to both the thugs keeping a paper in front of him, which the victim businessman kept in his pocket. On going home, instead of the gold chain in the paper, he found three small pebbles. After which the police was informed. After the information, the police started investigating the case. Regarding the case, Forbisganj police station in-charge Raghavendra Kumar Singh said that he had received verbal information and that the case would be investigated.
