Efforts to open agricultural clinics started in all the subdivisions of East Champaran district

East Champaran, May 15 (HS). Efforts have been started to open agricultural clinics in the district. At present, agricultural clinics will be established at the sub-divisional level of the district. The screening committee under the chairmanship of DM has selected six applicants for this scheme.

Among the 6 sub-divisions of the district, apart from two in Motihari Sadar sub-division, one applicant each has been selected in the other four sub-divisions. Whereas not a single applicant has been selected in Chakia sub-division. The District Plant Protection Department will soon issue work orders to these selected applicants, for which the remaining process is being completed.

It is noteworthy that a plan to open agricultural clinics is proposed under the Agriculture Road Map Scheme of the State Government. Under this scheme, approval has been given to open 12 centers of agricultural clinics in East Champaran district in the year 2023-24. Since there are six sub-divisions in the district. For this, preparations are being made to open two agricultural clinics in all the subdivisions. A total of 35 people had applied for this. In the screening of the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the district level DM, only six applicants who completed the qualification were selected.

Let us tell you that the qualification of the applicant for Agriculture Clinic has been fixed as Agriculture Graduate/Masters. In this scheme, 40 percent grant of the cost of Rs 5 lakh has been earmarked. It has been told that through the agricultural clinic, farmers will get solutions to all the problems of farming along with doing farming adapted to climate change.

Farmers will be able to use chemical fertilizers and pesticides appropriately after consulting the clinic. Also, suggestions related to soil testing, seed analysis, crop pests and diseases will be given here.

Sushil Singh, Assistant Director of Plant Protection, East Champaran, said that currently 6 applicants have been selected in the district. Preparations are being made to give them training at the departmental level. After the training, they will be given work orders.
