Rae Bareli, 02 October (Hindus). Completion of the Prayagraj-Lucknow National Highway before Mahakumbh is a difficult task, but the efforts to complete it are now gaining momentum. With the coordination of Prayagraj and Rae Bareli administration, this work which was looking difficult may now gain momentum.Lucknow-Prayagraj Now NTPC's ash will meet the shortage of soil in the National Highway. An agreement has been reached between Prayagraj Commissioner and Rae Bareli District Magistrate regarding the supply of ash. District Magistrate Harshita Mathur has promised to provide ash from NTPC Unchahar. After which it is expected that the construction work of the highway will be expedited.
It is noteworthy that there is four lane from Rae Bareli to Lucknow in the stretch of about 200 km between Lucknow and Prayagraj. Four lane work is going on from Prayagraj to Rae Bareli. The work of widening the highway at a cost of about Rs 1636 crore was being affected due to shortage of soil.
This project has been targeted to be completed by November 2024. Which is proving to be a difficult task. However, the shortage of soil will now be met with ash, for which a consensus has been reached among the officials. The ash will be supplied by NTPC. It is to be done from, which will bring a lot of convenience in the construction work. It is noteworthy that a total of 24.14 km bypass and bridge on Sai river is being built from Prayagraj to Rae Bareli in Jagatpur, Babuganj, Unchahar and Anapur. Due to heavy traffic from Nawabganj to Malak Harhar, about 8.5 km of the highway is being made six lane instead of four lane. A total of 106 km of highway from Prayagraj to Rae Bareli is being widened to four lanes. The construction of this highway will provide a lot of convenience to the devotees coming from Uttarakhand along with Lucknow as well as many districts of western Uttar Pradesh including Bareilly, Moradabad.
