The war between Russia and Ukraine is reverberating globally. Arms manufacturing companies are benefiting from this war. On the other hand, due to supplying arms to Ukraine, a country like America is also looking towards other countries for artillery and its accessories.

The US has signed an agreement with Turkey for the supply of cannon balls as well as TNT and nitroguanidine, which are key ingredients needed to make cannon balls. America wants to triple the production of 155 mm cannon shells and for this the above material is important.

America has had to contact Turkey due to the two-year-long conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Due to this war, Western countries are supplying arms and ammunition to Ukraine and due to this these countries are depleting their own stocks. On the other hand, as demand is increasing, companies around the world are facing backlogs. There is a shortage of TNT material, especially used to make cannonballs and other bombs. On the other hand, since Turkey can supply this material, the US has decided to make a deal with Turkey.

Turkish President Erdogan will visit the White House on May 9 and discuss the issue with US President Joe Biden. Military relations between America and Türkiye are becoming closer. The United States is ready to sell F-16 fighter planes, missiles and bombs to Turkey after Turkey gave the green light to Sweden to join NATO. This deal is believed to be worth 23 billion dollars.

On the other hand, the US Army has given the contract to make artillery shells to a Texas company and a Turkish company is also involved in it. Production will begin here from June. A Turkish arms company hopes to produce 30 percent of America's artillery needs by 2025. America has purchased 1.16 lakh cannon balls from another Turkish company this year.
