Kanpur, 01 November (HS). The direction of north-eastern wind blowing in Uttar Pradesh changed to westerly on Thursday. As soon as the wind started blowing, the weather of Uttar Pradesh changed within a span of 24 hours and the maximum and minimum temperatures fell. Due to falling temperature at night, people started feeling mild cold. The Meteorological Department says that these cold winds will further affect the weather in the coming days.
Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology, said on Friday that the monsoon has withdrawn late this year. After the withdrawal of monsoon, the weather of Uttar Pradesh remained dry for a few days and due to sunshine the temperature was continuously above normal. Whereas by Diwali, usually the weather changes and pink winter starts. Westerly winds are an important factor behind this and these winds started blowing from Thursday. Due to these cold winds the temperature of the Ganga plains dropped. The night temperature and day temperature dropped by two degrees Celsius respectively. Its effect was not much during the day, but people started feeling slight cold at night. In the coming days, these winds will increase the cold in the plains of Ganga.
He said that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 33.8 and the minimum temperature was 18.6 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 86 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 49 percent. The direction of the winds was north-west with an average speed of 2.7 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, there is no possibility of rain in Kanpur in the next five days due to clear sky.
