Sirohi, June 13 (HS). Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar on Thursday appealed to the people present at the felicitation and Pratibha Samman ceremony organized by School Education Family Sirohi at Suthar Samaj Hostel to plant as many trees as possible. Minister Dilawar was present in the discussion program organized under Amrit Paryavaran Mahotsav.
He said that preparations have started to celebrate Amrit Paryavaran Mahotsav on August 8 in the state. A plan has been made to organize an intensive campaign of tree plantation across the state. According to the plan, there is a program to plant crores of saplings in the entire state in a single day. He said that there is an extreme need for intensive tree plantation in Rajasthan, so that the brave land of Rajasthan, known as a desert, can be transformed into a green earth. He said that the date of the campaign has been fixed as August 8. On this day, crores of saplings will be planted simultaneously in the state on a single day in the name of “Amrit Paryavaran Mahotsav”. The slogan of the public movement 'Ek Ped Desh Ke Naam' has been given to connect the people of the state and the citizens with the campaign.
During the program, it was told that the intensity of heat is increasing year by year. The main reason for the increase in temperature is the lack of trees, in India there are only 28 trees per person, while in Rajasthan this number is even less. He told about big shady trees like Peepal, Banyan, Sheesham etc. A fully grown tree emits 230 liters of oxygen per day. If calculated in terms of its commercial value, then one tree provides oxygen worth five crore rupees every year.
The Education Minister said that targets for various institutions and departments have been set for tree plantation under Amrit Paryavaran Mahotsav. He said that every petrol pump operator will plant 300 trees while every student will plant as many trees as the number of members in his family. Farmers have been given the target of planting as many trees as the number of bighas of land in a farmer's account. He said that if a farmer plants more than 200 trees, a MNREGA worker will be appointed for their irrigation and care, whose payment will be borne by the state government. During this, the Education Minister also made people raise their hands and take an oath to plant trees.
The program was also addressed by Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Ota Ram Dewasi and Lumba Ram Chaudhary. Many leaders and public representatives were present in the program. 20 students who scored more than 95 percent marks in the 10th and 12th classes of the school were also honored in the program. Minister Dilawar was felicitated by the school operators by presenting him a sword in the program.
