Holiday Calendar 2025: The Education Department of Bihar Government on Tuesday (03 December) has released the calendar of holidays in government schools in 2025. According to the calendar, 65 days in a year are earmarked for festivals and summer holidays. However, the holiday is for 72 days of which seven days are Sundays. This time (2024) there was a lot of controversy regarding holidays, in view of which the Education Department has now given a big relief to the teachers.
You will get continuous leave from Diwali to Chhath
In 2024, holidays were not given continuously during Diwali and Chhath. There was a lot of controversy regarding this. There was no holiday on the days of Nahay-Khay and Kharna during Chhath. If there was a dispute, leave was given on the day of Kharna. There was no holiday even on Bhai Dooj. This time teachers will get continuous leave from 20th October to 29th October i.e. from Diwali to Chhath. However, summer vacations have been cut short. Every time there was a summer vacation of one month, but according to the new calendar 2025, now there will be a summer vacation of 20 days. Summer vacation has been given from June 2 to June 21.
No cut in holidays this time during festivals
Holidays have also been given for Makar Sankranti, Rakshabandhan, Jitiya, Hartalika Teej, Anant Chaturdashi etc. If it is said, this time there has been no reduction in festival holidays. The Education Department has directed that the moon has importance in Muslim festivals, hence changes in holidays can be made after seeing the moon.
Teachers will have to give homework to children during long holidays
Along with this, all the students and teachers will be present in the school during Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti. The school will be closed after the event. It has been instructed that there are 10 days holiday from Diwali to Chhath and 20 days holiday in summer, in such a situation there are two long holidays, so during this time teachers will give homework to the students. When school opens, it will be the responsibility of the teacher to evaluate the homework.
